Aloha! I'm Justin Walguarnery, a biologist with broad interests in animal physiology, animal behavior, ecology, and evolution. Sensory ecology links these diverse lines of inquiry, and in that specific field I've investigated communication among Anolis lizards, evolution of visual signals in endemic Hawaiian damselflies, and even the use of digital technologies by chimpanzees for behavioral modification and expression. Currently, I'm contributing to the development of strategies for modification of mosquito microbes as a route through which to minimize the detrimental ecological and health effects of these ubiquitous insects.
