Simple 1% Ethidium Bromide (EtBr) Gel
Mix agarose into the TAE solution in a microwaveable clear container. Microwave in 30 s to 1 min intervals, handle with silicone glove, swirling between each step to mix the agarose to help it dissolve. Be careful of flash boiling and the hot liquid suddenly splattering or spilling over.
Once the agarose is fully dissolved and clear let it cool a few minutes and then add EtBr and swirl to mix.
